KC Cause is a non-profit organization that supports by providing assistance for smaller organizations and individuals in need with their own fundraising efforts. The vision for KC Cause is to raise money for local charities and to provide awareness about charities in our local community.
KC Cause hosts the Village West WineFest, an exhibition of select non-profit organizations in the greater Kansas City area, fine wines, unique beers, food from local restaurants, live music, and fireworks. Proceeds from ticket sales, and corporate sponsorships support select non-profit organizations in the greater Kansas City area and future fundraising events.
In order to maximize the positive impact that our program has in local communities, each year KC Cause will focus on a few projects in our local community where we can make a difference.
If you know of an organization that you feel would benefit from the help of KC Cause, feel free to send them our Charitable Donations Application. New organizations are reviewed by our Board based on submissions throughout the year.
"Support from KC Cause has enabled The HALO Foundation to provide programs for children in desperate situations both in Kansas City and around the world. It is our mission to give each HALO supported child basic needs, art therapy, and educational opportunities to enhance their future. KC Cause has given HALO the ability to grow, and their investment in the future of the world is making a difference."
Donna Zimmerman, Sr VP Communications/Public Relations
"He had scars on top of scars. 2 strokes and 38 operations before he was 30. He even contemplated suicide. But in 2015, Chevi Peters stood on the World Stage as a Champion Powerlifter – winning 3 golds and 1 silver medal at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. He was featured on ESPN Sports Center. How was he transformed? Special Olympics Kansas and his coach, John Lair. “This is where I belong” stated Peters. Obviously, there is a lot more of Chevi’s story and how becoming an athlete can impact lives. The support from KCCause helps us continue to certify coaches, underwrite competitions and train World Champions. Together, we will achieve!"
Michelle Herman, President and CEO of Sunflower House
"Sunflower House protects children from physical and sexual abuse by educating children and adults to recognize, resist and report abuse, as well as giving children of abuse a place to tell their stories and begin the healing process through therapy and family advocacy.
Sunflower House is honored to be among the charitable recipients of the generosity of KCCause! Since 2009, KC Cause has provided thousands of dollars to support the mission of Sunflower House from proceeds of its annual fall WineFest and sponsorship of the Sunflower House’s Valentine Gala. We are grateful to KCCause for our longstanding partnership protecting innocent children!"
